Olexandr and Larysa Dmitruk have five children and live in a large apartment in the area contaminated from the Chernobyl nuclear accident. Olexandr works at a plywood factory as a machine operator, and the mother, Larysa, is a housewife. Fortunately their children’s health is fairly good, although all of the children have a weakened immune system. Larysa suffers from allergies and high blood pressure. The family attends church regularly and are grateful for their support.
