Qendresa Gashi Family

Qendresa Gashi #71393

Qendresa Gashi is a widow with two children. Her husband died in 2013. She shared that “He had a serious sickness and was in a coma for two weeks before he died.” Many times families in Kosovo use the words “serious sickness” when they mean “cancer”, as they don’t like to use this word. At the time of his death, her two children were four and three years old.

Their house was in very poor condition, with no insulation, no toilet, and poor plumbing. Mercy Projects helped with renovations and today they enjoy clean drinking water and indoor plumbing.

Her son, Egzon, is now in the 8th grade; and her daughter, Egzona is in the 7th grade. Pastor Urim, in Kosovo, oversees our sponsorship program and has invited them to church. The family has been open to the gospel and both kids are active in the children’s ministry and attend weekly gatherings, engaging in Bible discussions. Both kids participated in the church’s vacation Bible school week when a team from Calvary Chapel Murrieta arrived. This small family walks and uses the bus, travelling 30 minutes each way. Their dedication to faith and fellowship is inspiring.

Sponsor now
Qendresa is a devoted mother and cares for her children. She tells us that her children are a big support to her. Egzon studies chemistry and biology at school while Egzona enjoys the same subjects.

Sponsorship provides monthly groceries and firewood for winter. They are very grateful for your support, which makes a difference in their lives.
