Kyiv – “We need to live this night”

MP counselor Sergey, who is also a foster family, lost his apartment while helping others find shelter from the bombs.

Kyiv, Ukraine – Feb 25

Our staff and friends report shelling and bombing all across the capital of Kyiv.  They are truly in stunned disbelief. At this moment, they are each in bomb shelters or basements under their respective apartment buildings. One staff member, together with her two adult daughters, is queued in line with thousands of other vehicles at the Polish border.

One of our friends and summer camp counselor reported:

“Today was a difficult day, there is a lot of shooting. We organized a bomb shelter in the basement of the church, we help people, most of them are non-believers.”

His apartment was hit by a missile.

There are massive lines of people at the Polish border. The border crossing takes many hours or days. It is not safe. The situation is quite fluid. We will report more tomorrow.
